Specific Objective Promote sustainable and eco-friendly building practices in Bangladesh within an enabling policy environment.
Overall Objective Contribute to a reduction in Green House Gas emission, deforestation and land degradation in Bangladesh.
Project Duration 01 January 2015 – 30 June 2017 (42 Months)
Working Area Savar Upazilla, Dhaka and Sadar and Manirampur Upazillas, Jessore (03 Upazillas under 02 Districts)
Target Beneficiary 150,000 individuals living in the target areas will benefit from improved knowledge, understanding and access to materials and manuals for green construction, as a result of awareness and marketing campaigns.
75,000 individuals living in proximity to brick fields will benefit particularly from reduced GHG emission and air pollution; reduced soil degradation and water-logging; reduced deforestation; and improved land productivity as a result of changed production practices of brick kilns in the area.
Project Duration 01 January, 2016 to 30 June, 2019.
